Today Nas reponded back to J. Cole's record "Let Nas Down" off of J. Cole's album 'Born Sinner'. In the original "Let Nas Down", J. Cole rapped about how his mentor No I.D. told him that Nas didn't like Cole's record "Work Out" which was featured on Cole's first album 'Cole World: The Sideline Story'. If you read my 'Born Sinner' Review you would know how I feel about "Let Nas Down" and it makes me so happy that Nas responded back, not in a interview or tweet, but in a remix.
In the "Let Nas Down Remix", Nas opens up the song spitting "I ain't mad at you Young King, this unsung song is haunting.". Nas then raps about his own problems in the music game like how nobody mentored him and how he never got any advice. One of my favorite lines in the record was, "At least you got Jay, but he already one of the greats. And it's hard for the great to tell somebody how to be great". As I digress, Nas then repeats "You ain't let Nas down. It's just part of the game to be a rap king" at the end of the song reassuring that there was no hard feelings.
